Acolytes: Acolytes are young people, age 10 and above, who assist the Priest at the altar in the Eucharist, and at other times during the service Choir: This choir is open to all singers, high school-aged to 90, who enjoy singing praises to God. Under the direction of Mrs. Georgia Lebedda, St. Stephen’s choir continues a long tradition of musical excellence. Weekly rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings at 7:00PM and Sunday morning at 9:30AM. The choir helps lead worship Sundays at 10 AM. Contemporary Musicians Group: This ensemble is open to anyone who enjoys singing contemporary hymns of praise and worship to God. They practice on Saturday mornings and sing during Holy Eucharist on Sunday at 10 AM. Healing Prayer Team: Friends who have compassion for the sick and suffering. They pray for anyone who has a healing need following the 10 AM service. Krafters: A group of women who, while gathering for fellowship, prepare items for sale for the annual Bazaar and other special holidays. Monies made from craft sales, candy sales, and other events are used for outreach by our church. Krafters meet every Monday at 9 AM in the undercroft (basement) of the Church. Lay Readers and Lay Eucharistic Ministers: Adults approved by the Bishop to read the lessons and/or administer the chalice during Sunday morning services. Outreach Committee: St. Stephen’s Outreach Commission is committed to spreading the Good News of God’s love by sharing, giving and caring for our community and world. Congregational Care Committee: The Laity minister to those in need and help nurture their souls by visitations and prayer. Tuesday Morning Bible Study/Tuesday Evening Bible Study: We gather every Tuesday to study and apply God’s written word, the Bible, to our lives. We meet at 11:00AM and 7:00PM in the Undercroft. Sunday School Teachers/Helpers: We help children become fully devoted followers of Jesus through Bible teaching, drama, arts and crafts, sharing and prayer. Ushers: A ministry of welcoming and helping members and guests at our worship services each Sunday. Welcoming Committee: Reaches out to visitors as we seek to meet their needs at St. Stephens. Helps them to get connected with our church. Women’s Fellowship: This is a Bible study for women who meet every second and fourth Monday evenings at 7:00 in the Common Room (in the church). This group meets for fellowship, prayer and learning about the Christian life. Youth Group: Guided by Keith Pozzuto, they seek to guide the Teens of the parish into a deeper relationship with Christ while at the same time having good healthy fun. |
